Engineering Development Program

The program, in existence since 1994, focuses on providing a wide breadth of development through a progression of rotations that expose participating engineers to the foundational engineering sciences, a broad-based understanding of customers and their needs, and product development. Another important aspect of the program is the engagement of the Technical Leaders to provide developmental guidance for new engineers. Such guidance provides a framework for your successful career at Cummins.

Upon graduating, you'll contribute to a variety of organizations at Cummins, including Midrange Engineering, Light Duty Diesel, Marketing Strategy, Supply Chain and the Fuel Systems Business.

Engineering Development Program — Power Generation

Our Engineering Development Program — Power Generation is a two-year career development program with four six-month short-term assignments for new hires or a one-year program for current Cummins employees. This program is designed to develop systems thinking in engineers, so you can then relate more broadly to the design, application and development of our products.

Finance Development Program

The Finance Development Program is a two-year program that provides financial and accounting professionals a broad range of experience in planning, forecasting, reporting, financial analysis, audit, plant finance, transaction support and treasury.

Manufacturing Development Program

Our Manufacturing Development Program is a two-year career development program that offers a balance of real engineering work at corporate and plant sites along with an ongoing training curriculum based on leading industry skills, tools and methods.

Upon completion of our program, you will be well established in engineering fundamentals, customer-focused operations and applied engineering in modern manufacturing systems.

Marketing and Sales Development Program

Our Marketing and Sales Development Program is a two-year career development program with four six-month short-term assignments, offering qualified participants a broad range of marketing and sales experience in multiple Cummins business units.

Quality Development Program

Our Quality Development Program is a two-year career development program that provides instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data. You'll learn to establish a program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement and analytical equipment and facilities.
