How we manage to perform the way we do.
Career development - unleash your full potential.
Innovation is critical to our success. We're also innovative in the way we develop our employees. Understanding your talents, current skills and future goals – and creating a plan to get you there. It's how we ensure that our employees continually grow so we can achieve the success we all dream about.
Like everyone at Cummins, you'll be asked to stretch your limits and demonstrate leadership. You can take advantage of opportunities for international career growth, training, work-life balance initiatives and much, much more. Our Performance Management Process
In order to help guide your career, we leverage our global Performance Management process to align the success of the company with the work that you do. It also gives you the opportunity to guide your own growth and success through your career.
How it Works
At the beginning of each year, you'll work with your manager to clearly define your work and development objectives (Planning phase). Throughout the year, you and your manager will have ongoing conversations to help align your work with the objectives of the company and our core values. You will also uncover skills and experiences that you'll need to accomplish your career goals and set goals for individual development. You'll work together to review your progress, and your manager will provide feedback on your work and development (Updating phase).
At the end of the year, you and your manager will again work together to evaluate your performance (Reviewing phase) and how it relates to big-picture Cummins objectives and to your own personal goals. Your manager will also speak with key stakeholders as part of your assessment in order to provide valuable feedback on your strengths and development opportunities.
Your success is measured not only in what you accomplish, but also in how you accomplish it. By demonstrating your ability to work effectively within the Cummins organization and culture, you'll showcase your ability to thrive when presented with any challenge and how you bring the Cummins core values to life. This is Working Right.
